| I just got prescribed to Klonopin 1mg every night for sleep (I also take 20mg buspirone and 100mg zoloft daily.) Only problem I'm having with the klonopin is that i'm having slight memory loss. It's getting a lot better, and I'm not as sleepy as I usually am during the day, so I'm wondering if I should keep taking it for a week or so and see if all those side effects go away. Any thought? |

I'm always amazed when people come to TA, specifically THE CORE for medical advice, lol.
ASK YOUR DOCTOR. Jesus. |

ASK YOUR DOCTOR. Jesus. | doctors don't know . my brother's wife who's a nurse told me that soy can interfer with thyroid. i tell my mom, she calls her doctor and he says never heard of it and she should call her pharmacist. i do an internet search and bingo.

| yeah i've probably learned more on the internet than i have from my doctor... but it's still a good idea to double-check with a medical professional. the internet is a great place for information but i don't think it should ever be used to replace professional medical care and advice. |

| They'll make you sleep. Or they do me, at least. If Xanax or Valium make you sleepy, Klonopin will too. They're all the same family. |

yeah, but it shouldnt be prescribed as a sleep aid. then before you know it, he is dependant on going to sleep with them. |

True. I have to agree with you there. They are "maintenance" medications - i.e., you have to keep a certain level in the blood for them to be totally effective. And we have a ton of medical science on the additiction associated with this family of drugs. If I have trouble sleeping, I just take a Benadryl and slam a 25oz can of Foster's. It's pure red neck fun, baby! |

Regardless of anything, medical websites are very good. A ing CHILL-OUT ROOM on a MUSIC FORUM is NOT a good place for medical advice. The only doctor we've ever had around here was a dick and now he's dead. |
