Exact Audio Copy - who's used it?

There are a couple things that I'm trying to do in this app that I'm having a bit of trouble with. It's a pre-release, so there's no documentation yet, and the guides I have found on the web don't detail this (or I've yet to see it)

First, I know it's possible to rip a CD as one track, but I can't find out how. I thought it was by clicking "Action > Create CUE Sheet > Single WAV file...", but that just makes the CUE sheet, while I thought it would create a CUE sheet AND rip to a single WAV file.

Second, I figured out how tp rip as MP3 with the LAME encoder, but I want to rip the one single track as an MP3. I guess when I figure out how to do that, I'll learn how to do this simultaneously. Also, I know that I could join the tracks with HJSplit, but doing that in the past has created problematic ID3 tags, so I would rather rip it as one track.

I also know that I can always encode it after I rip it as a WAV, using RazorLame, but if there's a way to do it, I'm going to freakin find it.

I have other apps that will rip to MP3, but I am virtually hooked on the pristine quality that EAC delivers, with the on-the-fly error correction it provides.

Thanks guys... :thepirate

Action -> Create Image & CUEsheet -> Uncompressed.

I swear by this program for my lossless archival. Hydrogenaudio.org

Would that rip it as WAV? If so, how would I rip it as MP3?

I don't really need a CUE sheet, but if that's the only way, it's no big deal.

And thanks for replying!

If you have EAC set up right (have it pointing to where your LAME is, just choose Compressed at the last option...and fix the ID3 tag afterwards.

Alright, EAC is pointing to the proper lcoation where lmae.exe is lcoated, and I ripped it as one single track.

However, I selected "Compressed...", and there were no errors. It even said "Compress with external program" or whatever in the status log, but it's still saved as a single WAV file.

I'm going to encode this one myself, but I have a couple more to do and I'd like to figure this out. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks again :thepirate
