Has Dance Music Cornered the Unreleased Market?

It is me or has the electronic movement epitomized the growth of music we will probably only hear once and never again?

just because it wasn't released doesn't mean people don't want to buy it

Blame the format: the 12" vinyl that sees one release and vanishes after that. It's because the single is not targetted at the audience- it's targetted at the DJ, and if an act isn't successful enough to release an album or be featured on a compilation, their work will never be widely available to the public.

if recordlabels would be more demanding on the records they release..

well.. it doesnt matter anymore, record companies can simply release music digitally and have no risk on losing money on the tracks, which means they can sign any they want..

its very sad, some years ago u could go to the record store and grab a trance or house compilation, nowadays there simply arent any CDs there to get..
