Overambition ain't **** to me
View this Thread in Original format
Sand Leaper
The other day I was playing some stuff on the radio. People really liked the set, but as always, I forgot to throw the record switch. After being urged by Psy-T to redo the thing, I decided to go out on a limb and record a massive marathon while I was at it, with tunes from all over the musical spectrum. I've posted nothing but ambient/downtempo mixes in here so far, and I think it's time that I showed off that my tastes are more versatile than this. So here it is, 275 minutes of pure electronic music goodness + some surprises:

Mixing was done in Traktor (in a rather rough way if I might add, so no need to comment on the beatmatching aspect). I own almost all the tunes in this mix here, either via digital downloads or my own records. However, I'll admit right off the bat that there is a handful that I have not been able to track down just yet, among them the Air Liquide and Seti tracks, both lifted from some pretty damn rare albums.

Right, enough chit chat. Here are the links:

I won't lie, I dl'ld part 2 and forwarded to Detroit Jazzin'. From there on was bliss. One can never have enough of those wavering drum kicks. I love Restless. Danse Macabre & Big Amoeba Sound are too good. Very Cinematic Orchestra, Daedelus sounding. Love it. This is only a further reminder to check out more of those Xen cuts. Thanks :)

I listened to 120 min of part 1 of your mix last night, staying up to about 2:40 am because of it. Your mix got me distracted from my hw, that and, I was tired. :thepirate

If I recall correctly at around 118 the beat kinda dragged on, only time I had to fast forward a min or two. :toothless

I loved how u seamlessly moved from ambient to groovin beats, all while building from one song to the next. It was like your on stairs leading to some goal, and each step took you one level further towards that goal with an increase in energy. Brilliant! :happy2: :D

I Will comment on the full set and part 2 when I’m fully engaged in the mix. Just keep bugging me to remind me. :p

I was hoping to construct a sort of journey out of this, so I'm glad that it worked that way for you as well.

I've heard that the server I'm using has given some people some trouble before, but if it cuts off, try using a download manager that lets you resume, it should work then.

Cheers for the feedback so far people :)
