I'am looking at getting a patch bay just to save a bit of time when setting things up
Thing is I've sound a very cheap one by soundlab but will this do sound quality wise and does it really matter that much in the case of a patchbay anyway?
Never brought one before so I'am abit confused.
Thanks |

As long as it is switchable (normalised/half normalled/open) I cant see any problem with it.
Just make sure you clean it- and try and keep it clean regulary. Dust plays havoc with them.
I swear by my patchbays( 8 of them)- but they can be a pain in the ass to set up- so do it on paper first. |

8 Patchbays?! Sounds like you have enough lines to beat the world record chain of 79,000 bras. Only using cable.
You ever get anxious about getting a dud wire in there somewhere? :nervous: |

There is 7 of them...all but 2 sockets are wired up.
Amazingly never had any problems with it. Ive put them together in a couple of studios before so knew what I was doing. Not had one duff lead or wire at all. Made by an old now defunct pro audio company in cambridge called 'Thatched cottage audio' - high quality vintage stuff, just like a lot of my other gear. |
