sup guys.. i have a question that i know you guys must have answered alotta times, but please i really need help on this... I am currently in Montreal, Canada... and id like to ask, if i buy DJ equipments from international sellers or from ebay for example, would i have to pay tax when they reach canada? and any idea how much tax would i have to pay?

Thanks
Munchy
You don't pay tax, you'll pay duties. I think it's about 7.5%...

But that's all according to how they ship it ;)

Best thing is to ship it to a broker just on the other side of the border and go pick it up... Just buy some road cases before you go over the border and put all the in there and then drive back...

If you ship USPS, there's a good chance there will be no duties, as they give the package to Canada Post at the border...

Like I said, you only claim items you bought in the states while driving back, thats why you go pick up the equipment, put it in some road ready cases, ditch the boxes and receipt, hide the instructions in the cases as well and then drive back.

If anyone asks you were in USA for a DJ session.

interesting.. thank you all for the help :)

Lemme see if I can find the address of that broker... It's 10 minutes right on the otherside of the border, so like 30 mins from Montreal total :)

And they only charge $2 an item!

...I like your thinking ;)

But, how come you don't purchase your dj equipment in Montreal...I visited there and heard there is a couple of really good stores.
