yes yes yes... another technical winamp question from D-res...
alright check it out. I use Rhapsody which is a legal music service. I love the visualizations that i can get for winamp and Im wondering, how do I configure winamp to "play" and the visualizations to sync with my soundcards output, since im not actually playing the file with winamp.
lemme try to simplify that if you're confused. i want to play music on rhapsody and i want to be able to use winamp's visualizations to sync with the music being played on Rhapsody by configuring it to read the soundcard output
not sure if that was simpler or not...
anyway any help would be great |

| i'd assume you'd have to use shoutcast somehow. don't ask me how though. |

| Doesn't sound like there's a way to do that. You can search for a separate visualization program that syncs with whatever music program you're using... or you can buy an XBOX 360. :gsmile: |

rhapsody is a streaming music service. to keep it legal it uses tight encryption and only songs i buy can be played with another media player. otherwise its all just on demand. i pay 10 bucks a month and i can listen to any song they have available basically by the click of my mouse. if you understand that, i cant just use winamp unless i felt like spending thousands of dollars buying every single song i can just listen to for a flat rate on rhapsody |

if you can rip the tracks i'll pay you 1000 dollars... trust me. they keep tight precautions to keep everything legal. and real player files have some of the toughest encryption in the media file world |

Yan has it right. Me and 2 buddies stared at the different 360 visualizers while listening to all sorts of for an entire hour
completely sober
omg is that intense. |

| someone posted a program a while ago that is a visualation program in itself w/o the dependence on winamp - you just have to run the sound into your soundcard. I forget what it is, but there are apps like that out there. |

That's probably the best way of putting it. |
