WASHINGTON - The Pentagon on Tuesday released the first video images of American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the military headquarters building and killing 189 people in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The images, recorded by Pentagon security cameras outside the building, were made public in response to a December 2004 Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch, a public interest group. Some still images from the video had previously been leaked and publicly circulated, but this was the first official release.
The airplane is a thin white blur on the video as it slams into the Pentagon at ground level. Almost instantly a white flash and a huge orange fireball appear on the video, followed by a tower of gray-black smoke. One of the videos shows a Pentagon police car driving in the direction of the impact point shortly after the plane hit.
Traveling at an estimated 350 mph, the hijacked American Airlines plane plowed into the southwest side of the Pentagon at 9:38 a.m. EDT, shortly after two other hijacked airlines were flown into the twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York. The attack set off fires in a portion of the Pentagon and killed 125 people inside, in addition to the 59 passengers and crew and the five men who hijacked the plane at Dulles International Airport.
The Pentagon had previously refused to release the videos, saying they had been provided to the Justice Department as evidence in any criminal proceedings.
"We fought hard to obtain this video because we felt that it was very important to complete the public record with respect to the terrorist attacks of September 11," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.
Cheryl Irwin, a Pentagon spokeswoman, said families of the victims of the Pentagon attack were not consulted before the videos were released on the Pentagon's Web site.

There was an independant documentary made a year or two ago regarding the Trade Center attacks of 9/11, a documentary that went through video and paper evidence to attempt to proove that much of what occured was falsified and that our own government was indeed responsible for these attacks. I believe they presented similar footage, though obviously not the same stuff.
I don't know what to think of the matter. I won't agree with every conspiracy theory that I run into, but I won't blindly support the government either. So as pyro says, let's wait to see what the rest of you think. |

That is serious bull . After all this time. That's what they were not releasing to the american public. One in cheap ass frame. HA! I know photoshop when I see it. POOR! :rolleyes:
BTW!...... Another in 9/11 movie. This is ridiculous..... I mean its really absurd. I can't believe Nicolas Cage stars in this as well.

| this is super sketch, I saw it on the news when I got home yesterday but I figured it wasn't worth watching... If they are trying to prove that a plane hit the pentagon then why not show the videos from across the street, which actually showed a 'plane' hitting the pentagon.. this seems like it was leaked to the news anyway, this video has been out for a very long time if I recall.. |

| What a very horrible day 9/11 was. I watched the Towers be hit and then come down. This is the very first video I've seen of the Pentagon and I do have to say WTF? I dont know much about computers and chopping at all, but where is the plane? I didnt see it, all I saw was an explosion. And I even had my reading glasses on. WTF is going on here. This country is a mess, to say the least. |

yeah the news was sayin how this is going to debunk all the 911 conspiro people... then they aired the video and was like... uhhh... yeah theres the plane... and theres the proof. lol right :stongue:
i think its a diversion to get people looking other places that you could debate for years without getting to the bottom of anything... diversion from looking into issues like building 7 etc. they will dribble out more and more videos over time as there A's in the hole when they need them. its sad as hell if you ask me. just release them all right now if your not hiding anything. its BS. |
