There's a lesson for Floops users in this song. The first of them being, back up your project files. The second is what to do in the unfortunate event that you haven't backed up your project files, and one gets corrupted.

This file got corrupted, and I'm a stubborn git who never backs his up, so I despaired for a while. I tried to make inaccessible plugins that may have been problematic. I asked the FLStudio tech support guys, but like most tech support, they were ultimately unhelpful, and do-it-yourself proved much more effective.

So if your file gets corrupted. Go through the Image Line apporved steps first, of course, but if it still doesn't work, read this post on the ocremix forums. This is something of a last resort, but it can work. I did it, and my file was more or less intact. I was able to finish it and post it here.

The title is a bit of a reference to the story for this song, but also based on the sample used. The title is a portamenteau of recovery and discovery.

13:37? dis el33t br0 :p

so commenting as I listen...
short intro - that arp is nice, but imo it gets a little repetitive.
Percussions are all nice. I love how you phasered(?) the closed hihat. Adds a lot of depth.
The bass is pretty goa typical. Not a bad job with it, although it feels a little dry to me.
2:30 ... nice change.
3:30 ... things are really picking up drive now. Massive hihat section here. Sounds interesting.
Again the tune is calming down now. Getting a little trippier now, I like that passage. Still I am not fully fascinated by the track, maybe its a little predictable.
5:00 ... really cool synthwork here, various layers playing well together.
6:00 The track feels really deep and introvert now. Ah, now the first real highlight @7:00 ... awesome spacey pads. This is goa how I love it :)
8:00 ... now on to Astral Projection territory. Sounds oldschool. The sample and buildup now feels very "classical" too.
Still, very good synthwork and great leads, though not too original. Nice fill @10:35.
11:30 ... man, its getting really driving now! Great ending for this track.

Solid track mate. You really did well here on synths and production, the mixing is really good. However, it feels a little predictable and I am missing the originality of your other productions a little. Nevertheless, good oldschool track! :)

The snyth is quite nice in the start. my type of thing. I applied something simmillar in the wickked storm remix.

I dislike the strenght the kick gives, Not sure if it's intentional.

I think the perc samples are not high quality enough.

@ 3.50 the new synth comes in, quite nice again.

The tune keeps going, imo it's way to long. I did not like the end with the saw stabs. it was not needed.

Nice edit at 7 minute mark.

The mid area of the song could use some addition of stuff.

Thats all :)

Hey Jex...I had a listen to it, I found it to be quite a journey track, and it progressed nicely. I thought the bassline was cool, drove the track nicely. I felt the track was a bit too long though, could maybe have taken 2 or 3 minutes off the track.
Overall I enjoyed it though, good work.

@cybernetica: Indeed, when I noticed the length of the track, I thought it very fitting considering what I had to go through to get it uncorrupted. Thanks for the comment.

@Massive: The perc samples may sound low quality because there's a subtle reverse hat scattered through the pattern. I've noticed that it sounds a little crappy from time to time. I need to get rid of it because it really doesn't do anything for the groove. Thanks for pointing that out.

That part of the end probably isn't needed. That's because it actually wasn't planned. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing, and since I'm rarely able to make a transition quite like that one without it feeling forced to me, I kept it.

@RickyM: Thanks for the review!
