the best hardware soft synth emulation

I dont want to rehash that old hardware soft synth debate anymore than it allready has.
i just need to know a few things i was thinking about getting a used roland jp8000 on ebay or the 8080 but used its like 7 or 8 hundred when i could buy a alesis micron for $400.
so i kind of have second thoughts about buying hardware right now unless its the right synth for the genre ,for example (tiesto,bruno fergani,paul oakenfold sounding etc)
so i basically have a soft synth setup i would like to add a hard synth in the future , okay heres my question....
which soft sytnh makes a accurate recreation
or trully reproduce the JP-8000's Super Saw
the supernovas leads
and so forth that you guys would recommend
something that cost less than virus vst version of course
ive tried the superwave p8 that was supposed to be modelled after the jp8000 but it crashes too much |

| used jp's shouldn't be costing more than $600 (i'm assuming you live in the u.s. because of the "nyc" in your name). 4 years ago i got mine for $550 including shipping, and since then i haven't really seen the prices change. |

| If you want hardware, get an Access Virus, it's the only synth you'll ever need for trance... it's just THAT simple.. :) |

The mp3 demos aren't that great. They sound much better in real life :D |

the only two software synths which come really close to hardware are:
V-Station and Korg Legacy Collection.
There is no softsynth which sounds like a JP8000 (although some people say that RB2K1 reaktor ensemble sounds really good)
Vanguard and Z3ta+ don't sound like hardware synths. They sound both cheap, especially the old vanguard version. Don't invest your precious money in those softsynths.
The superwave synths can be nice toys, but never replace a real JP.
And if you get an Access Virus, you'll have a real good allrounder synth for every kind of trance sound

Every synth has its own unique style and flavor; tweak them, find what works for you. Don't listen to other people's opinions of how good or bad a synth may be, because they're usually wrong. Test it yourself for maximum compatibility.
As for me? JP was my best investment. :) |
