I think those first three sky shots could have been killer at a different location without all the city crap like powerlines. Maybe from a bridge or something. I'd bring a tripod if you have one. The only other options are the bump up the iso or use a lens with image stabilization but that only helps in moderately low light. In dark the shutter speed still isn't fast enough for the IS to get clear shots.
Heres couple macros I took yesterday in my kitchen :D

I'm lucky they were just the size of my thumbnail. After living in the south I'll take small spiders over roaches any day!
There is a guy in the NYTA pictures forum, bloodflower than takes some killer pics. Might be worth a looksee when bored. |

I use a Canon 350D. Broke down in december and bought a couple grand worth of gear which doesn't add up to much. is so expensive. Got myself a EF100 f2.8 macro lens and an EF 50mm f/2.8. Both are primes so limited but razor clear when u see the full size photos. I used to use a Canon G3, which takes awesome photos but it is just too slow to capture photos at the speed I want. I still use it for vacations though.
Looking right now at the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 and the Canon EF 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 IS as my walkaround zoom lenses. Thats like another $1000+ though so ouch.
How bout yourself? |
