What you planning on doing? Why would you alter a mk5?
nyron
well my pitch doesnt work that good anymore...

it has become impossible to find the exact beatsyncrone setting...

the tracks runs always too fast or too slowly after about 20 seconds.

even if i correct the pitch for just a an incredible small millimeter...it still wont runs syncrone (then too fast or too slowly (depends on what speedproblem i had before))

Is that just around centre/zero or across the whole thing?
You must give 'em a beating!:tongue2
Timski
Yeah have you been running them with the platter off or something?
skot_e
hey Timski, your sig makes me laugh every time I see it.
As for taking the platter off, I take it your refering to the advice not to operate in such a way. To be honest I don't know what the affect is, as the platter is really a floating magnet sitting in an electro magnetic field. I'm no tech, but I don't understand how removing the platter damages the drive system. My dex are fine after 13yrs and I've had my platter off numerous times and switched it on. I dunno.
Tony Morello
how could you have an MK5 for 13 years... they were only released a few years ago, if that?
skot_e
i have mk2's. I never said I had mk5's?
Trance Nutter
A fault with a Technics?

Impossible!

:p
Tony Morello
your title says MK5

skot_e
Ahhh! I see the error of your ways... not my thread.

On a side note, was there ever a mk4?
Tony Morello
heh, no worries

yes, there was i believe, i think it was only released in japan

there was a thread a while back that had all the technics turntables and their model numbers ever released i think
