Tiesto at Amphitheater REVIEW (pg. 3)

I think Tiesto had a good set. Maybe people couldn't see him like I could but he did wave bye and he did have crowd interaction the majority of the time. I think Amp put him on early to get him off the decks early. Anyone that went to see Ferry in March will remember the chaos at closing. I think that was Amp's doing and they had him stop early to get people to leave. The Amp has never had an event sell out. The show was sold out days in advance. Everyone was still there at 2:30am. Tiesto didn't end 30 minutes early. When has anyone ever been allowed to spin until 3am (other than Ferry and Sasha both by accident)? They spin until about 2:45 to 2:50. Before we start hating we need to clarify circumstances first. I think Tiesto might have been slightly annoyed at the Amp for all of the theatrics they always have going on and with his friend Kai. By no means did he act annoyed at the fans. The Amp needs to realize that an EDM event like that is about the music and the DJ and most of us couldn't give a about seeing the dancers. As for Tiesto's set, you can't sit there and tell me that the Amp wasn't going off almost the entire night.

Damn people, it sure as hell was a million times better than any normal night at the Amp. I enjoyed myself and I have zero regrets for going. I was with most of my closest friends and we were all having a great time. Props to Tiesto for having us on his guest list and to Santoro for allowing us in his VIP. Being with my husband, my brother, and my best friends plus not standing in line, not paying, and being above and away from the masses made a huge difference in my night. :gsmile:

and this is what made it a good night. We had a lot of fun and I loved being with you guys so much. I missed everyone, and I am glad Thomas was there with us too. You should have seen some people's reactions when they met him. :p

Brent, we wish you were there too. Come back again soon. :)

Ok, I just found out that Tiesto was upset at the end because of some of the people on the stage. I have no idea what transpired since none of us were up there, but it wasn't because of Kai. I do know that he was fine until the dancers and extra people started gathering on the stage.

To hell with it. I still had a good time. :p

Mite be a case where the DJ doesn't want any attention on anyone but himself. I mean Tiesto did freak out when Dennis Rodman started dancing out in from of the booth back in November

It was ok, nothing outstanding by any means.

Even worse, they filled the place to WELL over capacity and the damn A/C was off! I saw SO many people leaving the club drenched and miserable at only 12:30ish.

GJ Amp, lets see how long it is before Tiesto shows up to your venue again.

I unfortunately have to agree with much of this post. I have always wanted to see Tiesto live, having missed multiple chances in the past. My expectations were high, but I must say overall the night was just 'OK'.

Tiesto played what I would consider a decent set, but it just didn't really grab me like some other's I've seen (never been dissapointed by a Ferry set). Add that to the fact that it was 150 degress in there (everyone was sweatin like pigs), water was $6 a bottle, and it was so crowded that the entire night you were getting run into and bumped around by people trying to get through the masses. :whip: Yes I know it gets hot and crowded in the clubs, but this was just too much.

I don't regret driving down and going, b/c I did want to see Tiesto spin live, but will think twice about spending the time and $$ before seeing him again, especially @ Amp. :(

Tiesto might have sold out but the two times that Ferry has been at the Amp were ten times better than the two times that Tiesto was there. It's just a totally different vibe when Ferry is in town. :tongue2

and Ferry gives his all every time, and has a blast every time, and everywhere he goes.

Yeah it was fun, i was upstairs the whole time, and had a great time. A little too much like a sweat shop but well worth it.

But i must admit, Ferry has always put on a better show

i love ferry when he plays at space, but anywhere else and its just "system f's greatest hits nite", which kinda of bores me. tho he did rock it out at LOL3 a few years back. hopefully he comes back to space real soon, and tiesto too!!!

I came down to Tampa from New York to visit a friend and fellow Tiesto fan this week. Amp was ridiculous. We get there and pick up our tickets at the door, and I'm told I can't get in because I had on a t-shirt?!!? Mind you it wasn't an old scraggly one, it was a dressy t-shirt. So I was forced to go buy a ridiculously overpriced shirt with a collar across the street at one of the stores before I could get in, only to see people with t-shirts on. Even outside the ticket booth girls were like WTF? when the guy outside told me I couldn't get in.

Bullsh*t aside, tiesto's set was pretty good. His mixing was on point, and the entire set flowed nicely. The clubs prices were equal to NYC prices which didn't bother me, but surprised me. Temperatures were unreal though. Terrible.

It was funny to hear Love Comes again and Traffic, since they are older, but he was playing to the crowd. Good set overall.
