Trance from 2001????

Hey everyone Im here to discuss the trance of the year 2001
Personally I think it sucks...
I dont know why but everything sounds more techno and dark hard trance and I dont like it very much
I got many of the cd's and live sets we all are talking about and I havent kept one yet.
I loved the music of the year 2000. It was amazing
although the sets were repetitiveat times the trance energy 2000 sets were my favourite.
I have all the johan, tiesto, corsten sets as well as many others like PVD and ATB and so on
I personally love Epic trance and this year so far has been quite the dissapointement.
Please tell me what you think and I appologize if I have offended anyone by this thread........
If anyone has any suggestions on music for me from 2001 please do tell

| I partially agree with you. I haven't found much epic trance from this year so far. Maybe trance is evolving into a darker style this year? |

| i hope it wont, i agree with you both and it would really piss me off! (sorry for lang)the last couple of years have taken a rise in the standard of trance - please lets say it is not the end of it! i hate all the harder, darker stuff. I hate techno, and i am not too keen on house. but what influence do we have on the arists - aomebody aout there will like whatever they are doing regardless of what we think! my favourite set from last year was.....hmmm i dunno i had lots and i must agree with the already mentioned trance on the first post! by the way - i think this is a good post and should maybe be put into the more popular 'music discussion' to attract more interest and opinions from other trancEaddicts!! | I would have to agree too. Last year was sooooooooooo much better at the beginning, especially with Arksun and Sander Klienenberg making good stuff. |

hehe i would not doubt Sander Kleinenberg's ability to produce quality tracks again this year..
he is one of those superior beings who never fails to impress lol |

| It seems that the normal, epic trance (I would say it's progressive house rather than trance) is dying. It's too mellow, too sleepy. During the partynight it can bring the whole crowd down to sleepiness. That's why during the livesets you can more and more rarely hear some really mellow tracks. |

I agree that I don't hear much epic trance anymore, the new trend is progressive house/trance, you can tell when the number one dj is voted to be Sasha(by one mag's readers ofcourse, lets not get into that debate again!) anywhoo... lucky I dun mind the stuff, but I miss hearing the uplifting too... if there is some new epic out there, it's ... hopefully there will be some new good tracks out soon...
I dunno peepz,whuz gonna happen?? Many djs and producers are buying into this trend, whuz gonna happen to epic trance????????
If we dun keep it alive, no one will...

I may sound like an Idiot for saying this..but I never heard of Sander Kleinenberg...and I've been listening to trance for about 2 years now... Can you guys give me some tracks he has produced? or is he a DJ?
Back to the main point... yes it is dissapointing to not hear any really good Epic Trance for a while, even though I like hearing the progressive style more in clubs..still love EPIC !!!

I bet you My Lexicon will sound familiar when u hear it!!! that's my favourite track done by him... he also has new tracks in his latest release called 4 seasons including venus and mars...
err... I haven't seen him live but his sets, songs he produced and remixes that I have heard are quality ( My Lexicon totally defines the kind of tracks I really like )
so check him out!!

Huh??? If only that could be true!! It would make me happy! IMO all the new trance sounds so progressive, so boring... Look at Tiesto for example! That's one of the reasons I'm more into techno right know, trance is becoming too progressive.
