Hey all :) Hope everyone is well.
Well I'm back with yet another new track lol. I've been working on my album "The Evolution Of One" and well I took a break from workin on it and ended up making a new track which then resulted in some vocals from myself. Its my 1st proper vocal trance track and I'm really pleased with it. Ray Of Light in general is a dream trance track with a feel good atmosphere. I've been concentrating on improving my tracks a lot lately and this is one of the better ones with more percussion and generally sounds more fuller imo. Just begun to learn to use some new toys that I have just got so future tracks are gonna get a whole lot better.
And for those who don't know I am no longer producing under the "Iced" name, I'm now using the title "Surface 1". With things getting a bit more serious I wanted a new fresh name so Surface 1 popped into my head and I'm really pleased with it.
So enough words and more music -

As always feedback is much apprieciated.
Cheers,
Martin - Surface 1 :) www.freewebs.com/icedmusic |

hey there iced! :).
intro is nice, like the filtering.
the snare/hat thingy kindoff breaks the mood.. you could make it more subtle.
the pad has more lower end then your kick + bass :D.
clap is too loud compared to kick + bass, make kick and bass louder.
all percs and sounds are higher then kick + bass it sounds like :D.
like the plucked thingy!
all percs are really loud.
dont like the lead maybe this kind off trance isnt my cup of tea ;).
saw thing is too dry and maybe too loud.
whole track is ok, some big flaws in this but if they get fixed the track might get better! |

Hi Surface 1!
Really chill and nice track, I like it! But I agree with Dj Cola about that snare/hat, it should sounds better more subtile. Anyway, good job!

Ohk. This track has some nice ideas.
The only problem is that the mixing is done pretty much all wrong. The percs should all by lying under the pads volume, if you want a relaxing track then you need to keep the high end things very subtle.
You should lower the volume on all the percs, especially the snare crash. The Kick should be increased and so should the bass.
Then on a Master EQ you should bring down the high end around 7KHz a bit, but not too much or the track will lose its clarity.
Nice track though I like it. |
