the only problem I have come across is that, once in a while i don't really listent to the song and delete it and than like a week later I hear it in someone's live set and it sounds damn good, and I have to smack my self on the head and search for that song again, that happens to about 10% of the songs that I delete!

Ditto!...lol...
I now find myself lookin' at 40Gig drives to just slap all my mp3 there so I don't have so many burnt mp3 CDs and all over other drives...

Fraggle
you'll need more than 40 gig!!!

i've had one for a few months now (43 gig actually)...but filled it up...then deleted 6 gigs...and now it's filled up again, plus another 6 gigs of mp3s sitting on a 20 gig drive :p:p:p

hehehe...it's a very very very vicious cycle!!! :D:D:D

time to start looking at multiple 60 gig drives i think (my bro just got two of them, filling them up with dvd rips very quickly :):):))

Oh man, this thread is so me :). I wouldn't say i have a lot like Fraggle, but i have enough ( just under 2000 by my latest count ). One thing i'll say for sure its a pain in the ass to sort all of my tunes. Maybe thats why i've only done it twice. However, in my case all of my MP3s are loaded into my permanent winamp playlist, so whenever i random play it i get to hear many amazing tracks which i never even knew i had, lol :toothless

screw 40 giggers.. get an 80 gigger.. it would be much more worth your while... livesets tend to take up alot of memory and if u wan to store them on your computer an 80 giger is the way to go.. i think i have around 32 gigs of just trance mp3 singles.. which approximates to around 3100 songs.. ive been using an 80 gigger for the past 2 years and its working fine for me :)

I invested in a MP3/CD player! the Rio Volt SP90
its so kikass!!
I've burn about 1.3 gigs of trance MP3s to CDs after taking 3 hours to sort them good from bad.
Then, all i hafta do it pop them in the Mp3/CD player and i've got hours of music without my comp!!!! hahahahah!!!

I can't wait untill i get a DVD burner to burn gigs of trax to 1 DVD!!!!!! *laughs maniacally*:whip: :toothless :stongue: :D

80 gigs is too small for when u dont delete live sets, lots of music videos and trance mp3s. each year, i put a new folder for trance and just let it accumulate till i dont know when. i also back up all everything i download. anysize harddirve is too small if u download at least 7 gigs a week. i am planning to get a 160 gig or larger when price drop real cheap.

I have Dual 100 GB, 7,200 RPM 8 MB Cache Hard Drives in my Brand New Alienware Comp. I have 6,900 MP3's, 40 gigs worth. I'm never going to stop downloading. Ever.

Haha I suffer from the same problem!! I'm kind of anal about organizing my mp3's and sorting them out and deleting which ones I don't want. Whenever my friends call and ask what I'm doing I always either say, DLing, archiving, or organizing hehe. Its really time consuming..

i just dont worry about it when i run out of space. unless its a must have track then i'll figure out a way to get it delete a program here and there and bingo i have space again. good stuff. i hate burning music cause its not accessible like it would be if i left it in my harddrive.
