sharing sets is allowed somehow nowadays, but sharing albums? .... :conf: :conf: :conf:
although i cant find this 1 release on discogs, im pretty sure the mods wont be happy with this post. floorfiller, arent you a mod?
im confused on how everything's allowed here nowadays on the forum. and whats the use by the way of this post/thread? is it meant to get ID's on the unknown tracks? i can tell ya this; there's a pretty big chance nobody is gonna succeed in doing that ... after 12 yrs, it would be cool. but oakey is known for his unknown tracks .. |

well, it appears to be, first of all, because its released, on boxed, the label, as you already said. there are 2 cassetes, so its released. or cd, for which people have to pay. livesets are different from that, but its forbidden (for as far as i know) to share music which usually can be bought in stores. and the album prolly is the recording of a set. i dont know if the tracks are mixed together. if they arent, then its without a doubt an album. anyway, this thing has to bought in order to listen it. so therefore (hope i made clear what i meant), its forbidden

the difference? go to a music store, and ask if they sell livesets ... you'll find out ;). na kiddin', the difference of course is that a liveset can be recorded, and brought out on album, like what happened with magik 6. but an album never becomes a liveset, unless the dj has no mixing skills, and plays a full album when he appears to be mixing. if this answer doesnt help you; visit a doctor or something, because the fact that you ASK the question, already says enough i think about your music knowledge, of trance at least .. |

You can't buy this stuff. These were promo's from way back in the day. You won't find it on discogs because it is not an offical album release.
These tapes are the same, as say, Nick Warren's June Promo Mix. This is how they used to put out promos before the net changed everything. It had to be hard copy, real tapes and word of mouth. These were just fancy promo tapes because it was a bigger DJ.
Say it with me...Promo Tape... |

Basics, but we always paid the DJs, so everyone was happy.
"We then started thinking about releasing CD mixes. There was stuff like the Fantasia series out there, but we wanted to do something a little bit different, so we started the Global Underground series. It’s all about doing things that people aren’t expecting. Tony did one first as he was a mate and we had grown up with him, and then the rest just followed. “Sasha used to DJ for seven hours at Space, so it was hard to get that feeling on two CDs. Don’t get me wrong, he did it and I think it’s brilliant, but it took so bloody long and there were so many times when he changed his mind about something which was infuriating. ‘Perfectionist’ would be an understatement, but I don’t care now as it’s a bloody brilliant mix.”
