PKC has a good point about this being the wrong thread though.

Arguing over the intertnet is useless you say...
Exactly why is that true?

Other thing is that stealing software is unfair to those who worked hard to pay for it, more so for those who worked even harder to creat it.

Nomatter what your point is this is not the place to discuss stealing software.

Thats true but think about this for a second, I brought a cracked version of Saw studio from Russia on a CD (4 years ago), showed it to my buddy, he liked it so much he bought the Full version and it costs around $2500 US Dollars. Same as p2p and illegal mp3s boosted Artists album sales (Which I only found out about few days ago and found surprising)

Yeah there is an h2o crack floating around

If you recall, PKC just assumed that he "Stole" the software, he didnt even ask if he bought it or not. And second, he also stated that he bought the software, and that he lost the dongle. He also stated that he would go out and buy a new dongle to, so even if he did pirate the software, is still technicaly infact buying it. Its just like someone going out and Pirating windows, and then since the pirated it they get it for $100 from Microsoft instead of the full $180 cost. Either way its just the same as buying it, just like the poster who is flaming him stated that the only "Illegal" mp3 are the ones of unreleased songs, and that intending to buy them when they come out, which is just the same as the topic starter buying a new dongle.

Oh, and the reason its pointless to aruge over the internet is becuase to everybody, everyone they talk to is just text, their hundreds if not thousands of miles/km away, they haven't met them in person (in most cases) and they dont really care about others opinion.

I agree that this thread is in the wrong forum, but if its wrong discussing about stolen software then why are people talking about the cracks for it? Why haven't you responded to them with a similar post to me? For I am not discussing the fact of wether or not he stole it, if you read my first post you will see that I said that you need the dongle, not that you can crack it, and that H20, Digerati, Devotion, DBC, or Nemesis has written a crack, or a registry file for it. Once again, I just simply stated that he needs a dongle, so don't talk me down about how filesharing is bad, and that all software pirate should burn in hell becuase of it. Simply put, the Mods would have closed this thread if they felt that it was violating one of the rules.

I would like to say that I am not trying to offend you in any form or way, I do respect your opinion and respect you for posting, most people would just have ignored my post.

just to claify. i did actually buy the software, i bought it off ebay and thought it was the original version. but i still dont have a problem with downloading stuff off the net. not that i feel i have to explain myself. so you can shuf your condescending remarks up your whole pkcRAISTLIN. end of.

i dont no why people complain, its none of their business. when i started producing i used cracked software (fruity loops) to see if i wanted to start producing. i did and therefore invested in cubase and reason so sometimes bad turns to good. fruity loops is like what £100 to buy where as i paid £250 for reason and £400 for cubase. now i think steinberg and propellerheads should be thanking me for using cracked software in the first place.

not "oh, yes i did really buy it".

tho, of course paying 50c for an item on ebay that normally sells for $700AU would be considered properly purchasing  its not legit software? go figure!!

you kids can justify it however you want, but the simple fact is if you love & use the software/music youre downloading you should support those whose hard work has gone into them. if everyone had the attitude that its ok to steal everything the entire industry would go down the toilet and none of us would have anything.

essentially, people like you owe people like me coz i keep businesses profitable and enable you to download their new and improved tunes/software- how you like those apples?

not really its been proven that file sharing has actually helped music sales. So your argument is bull in that regard.

nope. all my DVDs are bought & paid for, all my CDs are legit, all my records are legit. the only illegal things i have is mp3s for which im awaiting a vinyl release. dont go round judging people by your own low standards, halfwit.

to be honest tho i shouldnt be so harsh. someone that cant figure out how to work around the software protection or even ask a question in the right forum surely isnt gonna be making anything worthwhile with cubase or any other illegal software.

actually there are those of us that buy all the software we use.

I never said that originally... lesprock did... me did you manually change the name to mine?

Anyway I couldnt really care less considering I don't really have that much illegal software, I get everything I want through work and was just making a generalisation. I don't mix CD's and the only mp3's I have are downloaded sets.
RoBDaWG
I originally used a cracked version of FL Studio until I got comfortable with it, then I bought it from the store.

I would never spend hundreds of dollars on something I have no idea what i'm doing with
Greedy
lol, sounds like he bought a pirated version of cubase off ebay.

Buy the software

Only in some cases, usually big more commercial artists. In a lot of cases it greatly reduced CD and particularly vinyl sales, resulting in quite a few labels and a couple of distribution companies folding... not cool when you work for one of these companies (I know people who worked for these companies and became unemployed as a pretty much direct result of illegal mp3 sharing)
