My roommate got me addicted when he brought one of these baddies home: http://www.sodaclubusa.com/prodinfo.htm#
Counter top seltzer machine, fresh on demand club soda ftw! You should look into it.

wtf is sparkling water metro? :(

club soda is not the same as sparkling water.
CleverName
Maybe so maybe no but I'll take the pepsi challenge with the soda club against some of that san pel any day :p

*edit*
sparkling water is, by definition, carbonated water. Synonymous with club soda, seltzer, etc. I suppose one could argue that san pellegrino is a *mineral* water, but that's just pure semantics.

no no.... not semantics...

if im not wrong, and i could be wrong. in the restauranht i worked @... on the gun @ the bar the soda water... was well not as sparkling as sparkling water. it was more of just for drinks.. cause u wont rly feel the different.

im preatty shure they arent the same. only difference is the ammount of carbonation. i could be wrong. if any of that made sense

i love pellegrino. and i think the difference between pelligrino and club soda is that it seems the bubbles are 'bigger' in club soda. also there is more of a sodium taste IMO in pellegrino.
CleverName
Of course there's a difference in taste...a tall glass of chilled san pelegrino, recently poured from a freshly opened glass bottle and chilled with three cubes of frozen evian, will definitely taste different from, say, a dixie cup full of carbon infused tap water. They're still both carbonated water and are thus sparkling water. This website describes the minor variations in carbonated beverages: http://www.lahey.org/HealthTips/htip.asp?ID=3

Quoth the webpage:
Sparkling water describes any carbonated water.
Club soda, sometimes called soda water, is filtered, carbonated tap water with added mineral salts. It, too, is high in sodium - 30-65 mg per eight ounces.

Only real discernible difference is in sodium content which seems to vary from definition to definition, let alone from brand to brand. The SodaClub(tm) machine that my roommate bought is just another example of this erratic term popping up...it can't produce club soda unless there's sodium in it - at least according to the above definition of club soda...

Either way, there's very little difference between any of those carbonated waters at all when it comes down to it.

The amount of carbonation varies from one brand to the other so I don't think this should be used as a means to compare sparkling water to club soda.
Actually where I live there's this local brand that comes in three levels of carbonation ( kind of like small medium and large ).

Otherwise yes sir for sparkling water :tongue3
San Pellegrino w00t
Perrier is the bomb!
Actually there are tons of brands out there, especially here living right next to Germany where everyone drinks sparkly water all the time. Too bad I shouldn't really be drinking sparkling water anymore because of the sodium content ( being on a salt free diet for health reasons is a mofo I feel like I'm 70 years old ).

My friends back in the US used to make fun of me whenever I'd bring some Perrier to after parties or I'd get some Perrier at the clubs ( freaking 4 or 6 bucks for a can sized bottle ).
Most refreshing thing having tons of limes or lemons and that water

And here's movie trivia time:
-I'll have a Perrier
-That's french for club soda!

Sooooooooooo which movie is this from?

Hmmm...I haven't been too familiar with sparkling water. But I'm down to give it a chance. So jdat recommended Perrier. What else do you guys recommend for a noob?
Slylee
it definitely had to grow on me and now i love it. i always buy a couple of bottles of perrier (lime flavored) or pellegrino (whichever is cheaper) when i grocery shop. it's very refreshing and it doesn't leave a taste or film in your mouth like regular soda does.

whenever i have an upset stomach, i drink some and it helps with that too.

KilldaDJ
water is good but i prefer it flat.

We have a grocery store called Publix, they carry all brands:
Pellegrino, Perrier, Lucky Star and even their own.
Gotta buy at least 6 bottles a week.

Pellegrino wins! :D
