Hey, just wondering if anyone in Toronto buys good tracks from places other than Release, Play De Record, and Traxx.. I know there's a few others, just never been to them. I've heard of one place, Dance Music Zone, at 100 Bathurst ... never went there though. Any recommendations? (My personal fav is Release Records .. what a sweet store) |

well, i don't go out to buy records that often, i like to order online nowadays, cuz i'm too lazy to subway and streetcar there in the winter... BUT, some other stores are
www.easternbloc.com - they used to be on adelaide but they moved above sunrise on yongue...
the pit records on yongue..
www.electricorangerecords.com - on king and jarvis.
release has good selection, but its kinda priceier than other stores. |

yeah, how much is shipping usually for you? I have thought about ordering online instead of going there, but i never bothered. thanks for the other stores too |

shipping is killer if you order from europe, but records are cheaper there, so it ends up being around the same, plus or minus a buck or two. however you gotta wait a week or two for it to come in the mail.
there's a store in the states, www.dancerecords.com, which i just ordered from... they give free shipping for orders over $50 USD. And most of their records are $9.99 US, which work out to be the same, minus PST and GST.
Then there's customs, I'm not exactly sure of the laws, but I've had to pay an extra $10 - $20 on some of my shipments for customs, but for others I didn't. So I have no idea bout that. :P |

Hey everyone the best place to buy online is definitely www.juno.co.uk they have unreal prices and cheap shipping example if you want say 2 current releases thenit comes to like 13 pounds and that is around 29-30 can and thats with the shipping so u are basically paying 15 bucks a record no tax, thats pretty sweet to me, Although sometimes they are slow but ive never had to wait more that a week and a half, once i got it in like 4 days=) and the reason customs charges at the border sometimes is because its just a total random thing that happens and they(s in customs) feel the need to open up cuz it could be dangerous goods, even though it clearly states that its just vinyl. Ive only had to pay once and ive ordered like 30 times so thats pretty good odds.
cheers!

yeah chrono, its been that way for a while now. Although they have a good selection, they're the most expensive store in TO.
but the best selection is online, and their prices are comparable if not better than record stores locally.. the stores i've ordered from are:
www.dancerecords.com
free shipping for orders over $50. thats good.
www.juno.co.uk
good selection, old stuff appears now and then in the back catalogue, which is updated daily. my first order took over a month to come, but after that, they've gotten here in about a week.
www.only-djs.com
expensive shipping, cuz they use DHL, gets here in 3 days from the netherlands, but you have no option to choose what kind of shipping you want. they had some older records in stock that I wanted. |

I havnt been down to release in a few months.. they used to be at $15 before.. but they do put some crazy deals out once in a while, buy one get 2 free (from in the centre box). Usually they are old records, but I found a few good ones, Pulsedriver - Din Daa daa and Da Hool - Met her at the love parade (2001 remixes), and a few other good ones. doesnt it say on dancerecords.com that free shipping is only within the continental United States? |

i get my at the pit... i think they have the best selection for house/trance/progressive... eastern bloc is more d'n'b and jungle, and play de record is more hip hop... traxxx has a limited trance collection too... release is good too!! so yea, release and pit |
