Deco out? :wtf:
I know he didn't do great saturday, but still I'd much rather keep him on the team and leave Simão in alert at the bench to any sign of Ronaldo madness.
The team played better with Figo in the middle, but it was only one game against a crap team, remember the long ass time we've tried to find solutions for Deco's place and nobody ever did the job as well as he does, and that is including Figo.
btw, yesterday: Angola 0 United States 1 |
lol, yeah, I only noticed it when I finished up the 11, but... I'm not a big fan of Deco, true, but I recognize what he does to the team. But right now... I dunno, he seems kinda tired, after the Barça season. At the risk of shooting my own foot, perhaps I'd let him out on the first game, and see how things go with Figo on the middle... I know he played against a team that tried to lose for few, but still... it's a team that manages to keep 8-9 players behind the the line of the ball, and he performed rather well. Angola might play something alike, relying on the counterattack... Plus, I'm not that confident in Figo's performance at the left. |

Many are counting out Iran. I, for one, wouldn´t be surprised if they tied in the first game. They have the motivation. Mexico´s second game against Angola will be easy since Portugal will do a good job of taking all the motivation out of Angola.
If Mexico beats Iran in the first game and then beat Angola in the second, the last game will be very exciting. My guess is the first and second place in the group will be decided by goal difference. And of course I hope Mexico gets first.
Later people. I shall be back after the end of the WC. It´s going to rock! |

If Deco's injury is serious, i'll drop my optimism a lot. He's such a key player in the squad, either we magically find a solution or we're completely ed.
He's really the last player we needed injured right now. The only one that we don't have an half-decent backup for. Scolari rates Viana for his place, but honestly Viana is useless, some great passing skills and decent shooting yes, but he's way too slow in moving himself and the ball. Tiago could be a good option but seems out of shape?! Figo looks the best replacement at the moment, but he never really played well there before the Luxembourg match. |

Wow, didnt know that, dont know all about him or the portuguese squad but werent you surprised they didnt take him to the WC ?
Dude's got talent ! Played a good Champions League too. |

| Dude's got MASSIVE talent, but he's fairly inconsistent and we have tons of wingers anyway. Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Simão and Boa Morte are more than enough. |
