Take 3 advils or ibuprofens before going to bed after drinking all nite.
You'll wake up nicely refreshed, and even forget you drank like a fish
the nite before.
Either that, or eat a raw cucumber like they do in the old country :D

Raw cucumber with salt is lush!

sugar, taurine, carbonation, and caffeine all increase absorption rates. Eating carbs turns them into sugar in your stomach. High protein foods lower rates. Doing the wrong combo after a long absence wont help.

But. its what I tell people "If you want to have a crazy party saturday, start drinking thursday"

you need to ramp up to drinking. I bet if you had 4 beers the next night and the next after that, by 3rd night youd be drinking 8 and feeling better than you did first night.

Although feeling sick off 4 is probably your body telling you alcohols bad :D

Guiness isn't exactly a light beer...on the stomach or a light beer in general, obviously. i'm sure that's what it was.

guinness is a 3.5 % ABV, less than your average ale. 1 pint of guinness has .96 of the total alcohol amount a 12oz budweiser does. It "feels" heavy due to large iron content. Its lack of carbonation (the reason for the widget, Guinness doesnt like to hold carb) makes it doubly smooth and easy to drink.

so basically you're saying i should have consumed a pitcher of beer this morning for breakfast to take the edge off? :gsmile:

i didn't mean because of the alcohol content. i just meant because of the thickness and all the other stuff (iron, i guess, like you said). it's just a differnt class of beer and if you're not used to drinking it, i would imagine you might feel a little ty after drinking a few...depending on the person of course. everyone reacts differently.

My friend was just on a business trip to Dublin and he brought back a bunch of Guinness. He swears it's waay better than what you can buy in the states. I can't wait to try it tonight :D

you might find this funny... i had some friends in town from NY last night and i ordered one of them a Spotted Cow and he thought i was trying to get him to drink milk.

and yes im saying take a pitcher and smooth that bite :D

and Guinness is more dehydrating than the others for pretty much the same reason others are. Long period of consuming alcohol without drinking water and eating food. Alcohol, even in low amounts, IS a diuretic. :D
