| I'm just starting out... I just wanna ask how long does the life of a cross fader last for if used at least once a day? |

Depends.
If your a scratch DJ
then it will be worn out quickly
Id say six months
But regular Trance DJ's dont use it often, They use the volium of the PGM channels.
So most likely you wont have to replace it often if youre a Trance DJ.
However if youre going to try scratching
Let me recommend the Vestax PCV Series (003, 175 and 275)
They all have the PCV-Crossfader and PCV-Faders that have been tested for over then 2 million passes.
I Got the Vestax PCV-175 and Im very pleased with it. |

| What about those digital crossfaders that Stanton is always boasting about? Do they get worn out as well? |

well they still work they just bleed. They way i BELIEVE it works is that its a resistance. you have contacts between the fader and a point, which in turn relays to X from channel 1 and Y from channel 2, as this is worn down from friction, dust etc, they X and Y numbers dont sync up with each other anymore, so it bleeds. you can be all the way over to channel 1 and still hear channel 2(get a new x-fader right away) or the bleed could be subtle, like it being a bit louder than you wanted at a point near the other sides 0
ok..that may be completly off, but its what I think its right. |
