Just wondering if any guys here have a Novation Nova? Just purchased one off Ebay. The range of sounds it produces, are meant to be lush.:D Can anyone give me a heads up on what to expect :toothless

I love my Nova, it's a great synth, great FX, great filters, awesome little machine. All the knobs send to midi too, so you can use it as a controller for your soft synths too. There are tons of patches available for download over the net. A great buy, it won't let you down.

I love my Nova too. The Vengeance soundset is awesome but with such a great interface it's easy to program your own sounds. It's great for all kinds of sounds. Unison and VCO style oscillator mode in the newest os are really cool.

yes, the nova is a little beast. It can produce drum sounds, leads, pads verry well. There are so manny reviews no need to mention the power of nova.:thepirate

is there much difference between the nova and supernova? I realise the supernova has more voices and a few more options, but is the sound very different? (asking people who have played with both)

*faps* My buddy/co-producer Vadim has Nova. It is the . I seriously love that thing, I always joke about borrowing it for a while... but one of these days I will.

You made a wise purchase off the ebay. :D

Supernova 2 is pretty different than Supernova 1/Nova. SN1 and Nova are pretty similar. SN2 has 42 band vocoder/an amazing OSC section with a lot of fine tuning parameters - not found in Virus or Q - it's serious, a lot of features here/IO digital possibilities/powerful programable arpeggiator including to send arps via MIDI out/powerful FM algorithm with 3 operators (almost an DX21 with its 4 operators - other synths only have 2 operators) etc. The sound from SN1/SN2/Nova have the same character (Oberheim sound) and a liquid filter (I like it), but the filter is very different than found on Virus B/C (MACHO filter).

I hated my supernova... honestly, in my opinion, the only hardware synth worth having around is virus.
DJFreaq
It's not the synth. It's the user.

By your request, here's the few demo sounds i posted earlier on another Nova topic:
http://www.mkdr.net/novademo/

Nothing special, just few basic sounds to show off the famous character of the synth(no additional fx or eq or anything). Theres also a clip with all sounds from Nova and Drumstation(+2 drumsamples), but those sounds are processed with outboard stuff..
:)

The range of sounds you can do with Nova is awesome and the inputs are very usefull if you have some other synths to hook thru it.
