Ok,
I've had it up to here with this ing piece of Trance Addict MP3 stream server!!! I have spent so much time trying to get my samples to work reliably in the unknown tracks section but without luck!!
I used to be able to post up mp3 samples but over the last year or so they haven't worked reliabley... take last night for example... I cut some wav files up into 45sec samples... I then opened up CDex and converted them into mp3 files... it used Lame MP3 encoder as default and I just choose the lowest setting under the normal wich is 32kbps and choose mono... I open a new thread and upload 1 of the mp3's and it works... I can stream it and hear it ok... I then move onto the next one I open a new thread and post the second mp3. This time no sound comes though on the stream when I click on the sucka... it comes up either with a open file thingo or a syunc error... so I go think ok the file size is definatley under 250kb and the lenght is under 60sec... maybe I better make it fit into the 24bps 112500hz guidelike... So I open up CDex and try both the MPII and the MPII.5 setting and choose 24kbps, mono and 112500hz. Upload again but still it won't play.. I open up the wave editor and down sample the wav file into 112500hz 8bit mono. Then I reopen CDex and mp3 the sucka in the same 24kbps format as before... upload and still it doen't work. I delete the thread.. I make a new thread the exact same.. the sample still doesn't work. I then choose edit page (as I did every other time) and reuploaded the mp3 sample... this time it works and I can listen to the sample. I click the sample a few more times to double and tripple check both threads have samples that are working. All looks good. Then today I jump back on and there are posts in my thread saying "we can't hear your sample... there is a sync error" sure enough I click the samples and they now don't work again!!!:mad: :mad: :mad:
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EITHER FIX THE ING SERVER OR POST A COPLETETE STEP BY ING STEP GUIDE ON HOW THE HELL ONE IS SUPPOSED TO GET THIS FICKLE SERVER TO WORK WITH A SAMPLE....
Thanks for your time people... sorry for being so frustrated... it's just that over the last year I've wasted so much time trying to get this to work... and I've had enough... I've even tried using fee web servers to post a mp3 sample but this was no good as after you finally go though all the bull setup you find that the pages don't allow uploading of .mp3 |
