so which compliations out there do you think are the best in following/capturing the evolution of the EDM music genres.

in my opinion, global underground has been great about it, having great dj's dj thier favorite tunes at that specific time. the GU compliations definitely show the growth and development of trance/house/progressive over the years. its far from cheese, and still a ways away from commercialism. only thing i don't know is how much freedom the GU dj's have in choosing what to spin etc... do you guys know???

also what other compilations out there do you think are great at capturing the way EDM music progresses???

Reactic

One of those, "Cor- remember the early 90s? We'll sell them back to you!" compilations. Like this one. Which looks kick-ass incidentally, although I own very nearly all of it.
Spacey Orange
interesting but it starts too late. there's hardly anything pre-1990 if at all, much less from the 70's. if there is one compilation, it would have to be voluminous.
