| ok this is probably a stupid question but...the sound i'm getting from my vinyl is kinda distorted sounding, i was wondering if the needles need to be replaced? i've never replaced my needles, been using them for about 5 months now, and i havnt used them for more than 1 or 2 hours a day. the vinyl's are clean...so ya, i just thought it would be the needle, thanks. |

well it depends on your set up. is it distorted when playing from either deck? If yes, it's not your needles. It would have to be serious bad luck for both to fail at the same time.
it could be your connecting them to the wrong input on the mixer. It could be that your gain structure is wrong. It could be your speakers are dead.
you need to go through the signal path and eliminate potential probs step by step.
i doubt anyone will be able to say "this is it!" without looking at your setup in person.
Good luck. |
