I've been trying to go on a stimulant free bender. I beat my old record of four days. My new record is now five days completed last week. I've been updating the sig pretty much every other day since. I had a cup of tea this afternoon ... a day will come when I won't have to update it for a while

Oh dear... just tea. And you had me thinking that you were referring to some lovely dopamine reuptake inhibition... ;)

Are you sure you don't mean seratonin reuptake inhibitors?

Legal and illegal included.
My brain felt a lot more clear last week, rather than always having either a caffiene buzz or a comedown feeling. What's wierd is that after doing all sorts of other "drugs" you come to see "normal" things that affect your mind (like coffee) in a similar light. That's part of the reason I'm trying to quit. It's been years since my brain wasn't wired on one substance or another.

i would actually like to try this. let me know if you'd like a partner in this cause, sid. :toothless (i'm a tea drinker pretty much all the time and during the summer time i drink iced coffee roughly once a week or so.)

Okay, you're on, buddy. We start Sunday.

I don't see what the big deal is with tea! I'm Russian so when I lived with my parents, and still when I go visit them or my grandma, we drink cups and cups of tea. And I have a coffee in the morning when I feel tired, 0-2x a week. But I don't waste 5 bucks every day on a venti latte. I guess you guys must be feeding Starbucks corporate a ton of dough eh :) :p

^ actually i loathe starbucks and i drink either brown rice green tea, solomon tea or earl grey ---> all that i bought in zeh market.

i guess the big deal is that it's an artificial stimulant that we are voluntarily putting in our bodies, and that's what we're trying to do without. :)

one good thing that came out of Starjoint is this that has a pumpking flavor to it, i always forget the name.

I like starbucks lattes but only go for it once every couple of months when I'm really fiending for it.

I'm Indian and when you're home, it's not uncommon to have several cups of tea a day. As lunasea said we're just trying to go stimulant free for a while.

Yea but my family doesn't drink tea to get wired (also, I think any culture that drinks GREEN tea specifically doesn't do it to get wired). You make "artificial stimulant" sound so bad but what if you drink tea merely for the pleasure of drinking tea? I guess you'd say caffeine is still an artificial stimulant.
Then again, tea doesn't affect me as a stimulant at all because I'm so used to it. :D

I keep Red Bull in business, though I've cut back a bit the last two or three weeks.

Hardly ever have Starbucks, though. We get $5 gift cards from vendors at work every once in awhile, and I've got a stack of like $30 worth of them that haven't been used.

Well then, de-stimulate yourselves and be happy! :toocool: :p

Earl Grey and English Breakfast FTMFW.

Damn, peoples. I can't go a few days without having a cup of tea.

Haven't drank any coffee since I realized I was lactose intolerant a few years back. I sure do miss iced coffee. :(
