I'm (still) downloading the Metal Gear Solid cinema fan movie to my external (well, it's an internal hard disk in an enclosure) and, since bitcomet told me the first 2 cds were finished, i decided to play them. Well, wipidi do da, the audio was perfect but the video was like . I was like !
I spent $20 on a CompUSA enclosure and CompUSA gives me, their beloved $8 an hour an employee, a bottom of the line USB cable! I was like !
So I decided to go to CompUSA to get some 24-K Gold(REAL GOLD!) Belkin cables. I'm like cus they are like $30 and I figured at cost i would get them at like $25.
So I go to the register and i'm like man, these cables are ing expensive and their like only $4 more expensive than the non golds.
BOOM HEADSHOT
$3 for 6-foot gold USB 2.0 cables

I learn that almost all cables (and ink cartridges) are priced like 10x the cost of the store to buy them. You're being ripped off! Nuke COMPUSA! especially mine While i'm working there so i can get worker's compensation.
anyone need cables?

Gold usb cables are pointless.

You've just wasted some money there retard.

well, i can tell you that the 2nd cd starts off with Solid Snake on a metal bed naked being tortured. with the gold cables. and that's with the 4x turbo switch off.

tis always fun to see the markup on different products. I work for a software company providing sysztems for wholesalers, and my wife works in IT for a huge electrical retailer.
I find it great fun to see how much we get ripped off on some things, and how tight the margin is on others. Cables seem to be the worst case, we pay 10-20 times cost.
dj gear runs on a surprisingly low margin in many cases, especially in the wholesale-retail price. and computer gear, now that is competitive
