| when he gets into playing his techno he gets like zabiella. He will get 3 decks going and be fooling with the effects. Ive seen him 3 or 4 times and he never disappoints. |

| It's amazing lately how every single thread on this forum somehow comes back to Tiesto. And not in a good way :) |

i wasnt bashing Tiesto, even if you love the guy it remains simple fact. When it comes to mixing he is far from being anywhere near the top of the heap when it comes to technical djaying. Have you ever seen him use 4 decks...no.Why? because he isnt a technical dj.
hell i dont even think he uses 3 ever.
he has absolutly no dmc type skills, and his hands full with simple beatmatching.I have never been to a trainwreck free Tiesto show. |

I had the pleasure of catching eddie spin live twice.
His sets are driving and energetic. Never boring. He might a drop a 'hands up in the air' tune once or twice but just as you feel the energy level drop, he bangs in some massive driving beats to bring the energy level right up again. Expect lots of cuts, scratches, beat juggling and allloooooot of use of the efx unit (if there is one). He's a great showman and has great interaction with the crowd. He's also a quiet down to earth guy but i've only hung around with him once so i'm not sure about that.
I'd say .. dont miss him. He rarely rarely dissapoints. |

Hes very much over rated imo. People noticed him because he was scratching over trance in his early years and still does and it STILL sounds naff. Some of his looping CDJ tricks just got unbearable in the last 2 years.
His more warm up sets where he plays a lot of techno are enjoyable though as were his old style bosh sets. But hes tried to sound more like Paul Van Dyk in the last couple of years. My mates saw him in Edinburgh in January and they could have sworn it was PVD playing instead of Eddie.
On the up side he is very versatile because he can play anything. But therein lies his biggest problem which is chopping and changing through the styles too much making his sets sound random.
But hes hugely popular now and is the only DJ bar Tiesto that i know can sell out a club up here in Scotland. I also think hes ultimately being groomed to take over from Judge Jules at Radio 1. |

| lol he looks like he's had a hefty line in the vid. His set openings at Crasher were in awesome, he's definitely at his best when he's play really techy stuff, not trance/tidy trance. |
