ISO is the setting that sets the light sensitivity of your camera's image sensor. Use a lower ISO setting in bright settings and a higher ISO setting in dark settings. What kind of camera are you using that has ISO 50? Most digital cams that allow you adjust the ISO go no lower than ISO 100. This is the reason your pictures turned out all blurry and over-exposed.....you should have used a higher ISO setting. ;)
Z - Right now I'm using the Canon 350D Digital Rebel. |

| ^^^ Ooooh. I see. My camera is at least a few years old. Canon SD110. Its minimum ISO is 50 and max is 400. I'm waaaay overdue for a new camera. I just can't decide which one to get. I'd like to go for something around 8 megapixels but most cameras above 5 mpxls start getting a bit chunky. Suggestions? |

No actually the exact opposite. I took that shot with the shutter speed set at 10 seconds / iso 1600. Trying to catch a lightning bolt with a fast shutter speed would be like a turtle trying to screw a bunny rabbit.:stongue: |
Oh yeah that makes sense. I was thinking it was more like raindrops where the slower shutter would make them a blur but lightning is such a quick zap that it comes out clear in the slower speed.
Same cam i have too :D |

Theres quite a few smaller cams out there now with higher MP. If you go to canonusa.com you can compare and contrast all their cams. The S80 is a small P&S 8MP cam. They also have a number of really small 6mp ones. Depends though on what features you need and want. |

I have always sworn by Canon. They are the most reliable and produce the sharpest pics IMO. I used to have a powershot S7.....dropped it in my friends cup of beer...I thought it was done. Let it dry out for a week and it worked perfect.....I couldn't believe it. I also dropped it a few times on hard floors and it never broke. If you're looking for something compact look into the Canon Powershot SD550 (7.1 mp) $300-$380 or the newer Powershot SD630 (6.1 mp) $350-$400.
edit: Check out this site. Has a lot of reviews and some great info.

| Wow. Nice. I'm liking the Canon S80. The $500 price tag is kinda :nervous: . Not sure if I can pull that, but if I do, maybe the price will have dropped by the time I save up that much. My current Canon has been through quite a bit as well. Lots of spills and drops over the years before it finally started to malfunction. |
