It's a butchering of a classic. This kinda thing is happening WAY too often now. It's not even funny. One or two new remixes of older tunes is fine, but there must've been close to 100. It's a lack of inspiration for new ideas, and that is what ultimately will kill trance.

it's not dead, there's enough going on in (good) progressive, psy, progpsy & so on, it's just the 'trance' of avb etc which isn't going anywhere fast

The ball has been rolling in that direction for a while now. So much of today's trance is just boring compared to the pre-2004 trance and the oversaturation of bedroom producers and people just looking to pump out a record is just making things progressively worse.

There is something in your words..
But I'm still not completely agree with you.

I think that many remixes/new versions for classics can be considered as a brand new creation (especially the reffered one) although the lyrics/melody belongs to the original.
