Toronto Jazz Festival 2006 (June 22 - July 2)

will anyone here be checking out the Toronto Jazz Festival this year?

Lately I've been listening to the Toronto Jazz radio station 91.1FM often, and they got a lot great music playing! So, I'm looking forward to this... I'm probably gonna be checking out Jacksoul on the 22nd. Looks like a great time.
I'm looking into a few other performances too. Not sure which ones since I'm not too into jazz, but my friend is, so im gonna be going based on her suggestions.
oh and if anyone has some Jazz artists they'd like to recommend (not just for the festival but in general) please do!

Some latin jazz is very percussive and absolutely wonderful.
I missed out on the festival last year (I caught the tail end on 91.1 - too late to go to any events). Based on my personal preferences I would recommend any latin artists who are performing at this years festival.
Check out anything by Tito Puente, Willie Bobo, Cal Tjader. |

i like jazz...but havent been keeping a tab on new jazz so i dont know any artists from the 90s onward.....all my jazz liking is the wayback playback shiznit |
