herro, another noobie question:

on the technics, if you have it spinning(on), and then you turn the power off BEFORE stopping it from spinning...is this bad for the table?

ok, cool, just wondering, cause i did it on accident and i thought it was neato...and i wanna do it allllll day long.:o

i don't think so.. it can be used as a cool effect if executed properly

No. I don't see how it could damage the deck by turning it off?

Dude, you could throw a grenade at a 1210 and it would probably still work after the blast.

Ive seen techs from the early 80s still hobbling along and working just fine. Their circuits must be clogged with the grime of a 20 years of cigarette smoke, glued together with another 20 years of booze spillages. Heavy handed DJs and one or two drops from the looks of things (they were fecking battered).

Turning the power off before the platter spins down is probably the most insignifant amount of harm you could inflict on one of those tanks...

As an old hip-hop DJ, I used to use the technique of turning off the table then slightly spinning the platter backwards..... not sure how much of an effect you can do that in EDM though.
