I think the final score will be a draw (1-1). Even if we don't win, I think it will be a good test for our team. |
And we have a winner...
But yeah unlucky about the handball in the 1st half, linesman should have picked it up. Schwarzer was definitely the difference in the 2nd half, Dutch couldn't get the ball passed him. |

A pretty good result for Australia, but it certainly wasn't pretty!
* Our team looked really tired right from the start of the match. I think they were showing fatigue because they have been training so hard in the past two weeks. We were beaten all over the park and the Dutch had a lot of space to pass. They just seemed to be a lot quicker than us.
* The Dutch played very well for most of the game and I think they could win it this time with the players that they have. You have a very strong team!
* Holland were not a very physical team. The Australian team was very agressive and physical and rough, and it certainly was an advantage over the opposition. I felt bad for the midfield players that went off during the game because of injury. I hope they will be OK for the World Cup. You guys need to play in the English Premier League more and stop diving all over the place and appealing for free kicks ;) :p
* We were lucky that you guys didnt get a penalty from the handball. I don't know how the referee missed that!
Good luck for the World Cup Holland! :D |

Gotta love the rough play of some of your players as well :whip: |
From an Australian perspective this game was vital preparation for the Cup. I agree that for the Dutch it's not so worthwhile; the injuries demonstrated this.
We don't possess the same level of technical skills (passing, etc.) as was shown quite clearly in the first half, but when we got physical in the second the Dutch were put off their game and were clearly frustrated. Even if it's a friendly, it's important to send signals to the opposition like Japan (who won 1-0 against Malta) and get experience winning/drawing against quality sides.
Anyway as A.J. said best of luck with the Cup! (I've got $20 on you guys!!:p) |

lol, we're not gonna get even close to winning the cup :) This team is far too weak for that. You'd be better off betting that amount of money on, say, England. They can actually field a decent squad.. |
geez man show some patriotism!! england are famous for sucking balls at the cup. |
