most big DJs have a contract rider just like live music artists which will dictate what equipment they use when they play big clubs.

i.e. Morillo has an effects unit added and i believe a Rane rotary mixer as his requirements.

And Avalon just changes their decor every week.

Yeah, I noticed this happen A TON in the last year, maybe two. Certain DJs always request certain effects units (a lot of times travelling with their own), but have noticed that clubs will install specific mixers upon the DJ request. A few years ago I never saw this, but have seen it a ton since.

Definitely a Rane Rotary that Morillo was using.

i don't remember the exact piece he was using, but a couple of years back when Erick played Circus for Spundae, I swear I heard he had some sort of effects unit that could separate the room into 4 zones and was doing some sort of surround sound stuff...totally forgot about that until this thread....

I thought eric morillo did a great job, but I don't really like how much he was playing with that external filter. It would really disrupt the flow at times. In terms of set, I think avalon does an amazing job changing it for every DJ each week. That is one of the many reasons why people come back every saturday (or friday be it the case). I did think it was kinda funny that the big dr. seuss looking cart that morillo was spinning behind on friday was the same modified cart for warren on saturday. Soooo impressed with warren!!

Was a great nite. The fellas before Nick Warren also did a great job. Architects of Sound I believe, they had the place stomping.
