Oh man, last summer was a nightmare. I had a stop over on the way back from Hawaii (the day OF Labour of Love) and there was a HUGE storm so the plane was mega delayed. My ride from Windsor was leaving without me :( I got a hold of Josh (Shanny) and he called everyone we knew in Windsor and got someone to wait for me to get home (I was flying into Detroit). I got home, we booked it to TOronto, got ready and left! Made it JUST on time!!
I started crying on the plane and my mom was like "Lisa it's just a party" and I'm like "no...you don't understand...it's THE party!" |

hahah I remember you giving me that EXACT quote at the party last year!! You looked hot last year btw, with the tan and the bright shirt.....oh-la-la!! :) eat your heart our cale ;) ;)
sot: where I used to stay back in the day was "Quality Hotel Downtown" which is right downtown, easy to get too from the QEW, and a 5 minute taxi to the guv....its located on Jarvis and King, like 3 blocks off the QEW. hope you guys make it! have you ever been or are you a virgin?? lol:tongue2 |

i went to LOL in 04, stayed with lyss, drew, brian, joey and briana at the novotel..was awesome. guv is one of my fav clubs period. those lasers in correlation to the sound is amazing. definitely looking forward to this. |

Hahahaha, it was totally the party he fell for me at! We sat down during like 2 hours of Armin's set just talking.
I was looking at pictures not so long ago and I was as dark as Nada. Oh....what I would give to be that dark again. |

yeah that WAS hella AWESOME...i just hope they bring out the LASERS in full-force at this year's LOL...im not sure why but in 2004 I don't remember LASERS in the main room, esp when Sander was on. then again I left halfway through his set, and ran to KOOL HAUS just in time to catch Mark Oliver throwing down a sick remix of Beastie Boys "Fight For Your Right (To Party)" -- then of course FERRY/NU NRG/INFUSION --- omg that triple threat was CRAAAAZY :crazy:
The Novotel was aiite...i thought it was a lil expensive though -- then again i totally SWEAR by the Courtyard Marriott (its near Eaton Center). I think if the NYTAs are gonna go up, we should all stay in a huge hotel (affordable if we can help it). Something like the Novotel but less expensive. ahha. def *NO* RAMADA :nervous: I think the TAS i went up with during Canada Day can certainly attest to the ghetto-ness of that hotel and that street. |

also, is the venue near a train station? trying to work out how i'm gonna get there, and get away after. |

They usually go on sale around the end of July. Don't worry you'll get a ticket. They go up as more are sold....you can even get them at the door. The Guvernment Complex is all about money...you'll get it. Worst comes to worst, there's ALWAYS scalpers at the event.
There's a train station not to far - Union Station. It's ViaRail though...only in Canada. You could take a Greyhound which also isn't too far. 10 min cab ride I'd say. |

^^ what she said!! There is no way you cant get a ticket....I usually get mine mid-august or so.....but you will pay the price at the door! The guv will pack the place till the fire department comes, unfortunately. I kinda wish there was more of a limit!! :mad: |

And just to put your mind at ease, the first year I went, I went up on a whim with my old boyfriend from toronto and bought the tickets the night before ;) |

in 2004 i was actually on the guestlist and it was fine...actually we almost werent on the guestlist cuz drew gave his name to the promoter at the tA BBQ the night before...the promoter was incredibly drunk...the list had him as "Andrew M" not "Andrew W" go figure...but props for him answering his phone and helping us to figure that out...we were really nervous cuz i didnt wanna pay $65-70 CAN at door (which still wasn't bad for the party, we just didnt bring enough money. ahah)
guestlist is fine...usually its about the same price as hard ticket sales...the Guvernment rarely SELLS out...esp. for an ALL ACCESS event, yes they will pack the in place like SARDINES
also for some reason, when we went up for Canada Day, tickets on guestlist were STRAIGHT at $30 CAN!!!! i remember ticketmaster charging service fees (total ended up $40CAN) so iono WTF that was about... |
