Quoted for truth.

My suggestion is to call the university about this. Have you considered staying in residence?

Generally the further away from the downtown core the cheaper, so if money is an issue consider that. If you're not looking for an apartment, then rooms for rent tend to be concentrated around universities College/Bathurst, Spidina/Dundas St.Georges/Spidina for UofT (looooooots of rooms there)

If you have your student card, check out Student Housing in the Koffler building on 214 College Street. They have listings of places that are available and is a good place for information.

yea..student housing is a good place to start... you don't actually have to go there physically... if you have your student number, you can look up most of the listings online http://link.library.utoronto.ca/StudentHousing/

i know of a few other other sources that you can look into... let me know if you are still having trouble.. i would be happy to help :)

which program are you looking to complete a masters in by the way?

p.s. Graham, you are missing out on all the st.george fun! the people who helped bring down class averages in first and second year have been completely weeded out by now.. next year should be interesting!

A good friend of mine just got accepted for a grad program as well.

We will be moving in together in sept downtown as well, lets hear about some resources guys!

thanks for ur help.

I will search on the internet in the pages that u gave me. In order to search I would like to know which neighborhoods are near to the university (or not to close but that you recommend me)..

I'm not in Canada yet so It's impossible to go to the U to check on the boards.

To answer some questions:

My budget: $$500-700.

I Love trance specially Tech-trance...... and Progressive House.

Nice, a fellow engineer ;)

Since you're going to be studying engineering I'm assuming you'll have class in and around the engineering buildings which are close to College and Spadina. Theres a nice residential are just south of College and St. George which I can recommend. However it's quite possible that you'll have to find roommates to split a place.

in that case, i recommend that you live in the gradute house (http://www.sgs.utoronto.ca/residencegradtwo) temporarily until you get a chance to see for yourself the different areas around the campus (annex, financial district, etc) because they are quite different...
with the $500-700 you will most likely have to share a house or an apartment with a few other people..the rent for a bachelor apartment in central toronto is usually over $800...
another option that you have is to live up north (rent is MUCH cheaper) and take the subway down.
