MIKE - Perfect Blend is the biggest piece of , boring, unoriginal pile of rubbish that has been released since ASOT 2006 Mix CD.
Even though it hasnt been that long, it is still an awful artist album.
You want a quality Artist Album, check out
Leama & Moor - Common Ground
Ferry Corsten - L.E.F. |

haha i havent even heard mikes album.. i dont contest the oldies are getting stale, you guys need to listen to the new blood =) pop over to the producers forums, some gems there.
ps. soups, just to see what you jerkoff over, had a listen to alex stealthy's music, imo it all sounds the same.. i guess that's it in a nutshell.. unless you are into a style particularly, you're going to call it boring, repetitive etc etc. |

I dont think thats correct Dave. I Love MIKES style and thought his tunes are masterpieces which were original and inspiring. Now however they are not. They all sound quite the same, and i implore you to download/buy his album and give it a listen. I would be suprised if you think that it is an inspiring album.
Some of the tracks would work well on the dancefloor, but im talking about listening to the cd for what it is. An artists album!! it is boring as hell to listen to it for 80 minutes, and hear the same basslien over and over, and the same sounds over and over. There is no breaks tunes, there is no variety. As artist albums go, it is extremely boring.......
Leama and Moor's 'Common Ground' on the contrary is an inspiring, melodic 80minute journey, ranging from ambient bliss, breaks to melodic prog. Alex Stealthy's first 4 tunes on the album never to be released  are again real pieces of sensational music!!!! Armins artist album 76 had some variety, however was still lacklustre.....
Ferry Corstens L.E.F. is a cd packed with fresh new production, and some retouched gems'. He new remix of Galaxia is sensational. There are some hot electro trance tunes on that cd, which is one that could be thrown on almost anywhere...
Artists need to remember that albums are supposed to be listened to from start to finish, and do require some originality to keep the listeners on their feet, and excited as they're not mixcd's...
MIKE's sound isn't something that i think is particularly inspiring to listen to for 80minutes in a row. His DJ'ing is a different story altogether though... Bring on a MIKE mixcd i say.. |

I guess i like it because i didnt buy it to play from start to finish, i just want some of his tunes that arent available on cd unmixed and have only been available on vinyl.
So for me an artist album is a chance to hopefully catch up on tunes i havent been able to play on cd, i dont buy it for the journey at all.:) |
