sales will make you want to kill everyone in your path after a month, not worth it.

That and they usually only take one extra year of school to specialize in. Almost everyone I knew back in high school either dropped out and became criminals/street trash or became electricians or mechanics and started making big bucks.

That time period is too long, actually.

It's more around 2 to 3 weeks.

anything less than a master's degree won't get you .

I beg to differ here, granted a bachelor's degree isn't THAT difficult to get. It's still pretty good. I know alot of people that are financially well off with just a bachelor's. It's all about experience and any kind of certification you can get aside from school that makes the difference.

I just graduated about a month ago and am currently looking for a job. While searching numerous job postsings I find that alot of entry level positions are actually ok with just an assoc. degree or some kind of relevent field training/experience.

So does having an advanced degree help? Of course, in fact I plan on going back in another few years to get my MBA. But I certainly wouldn't discredit anything less than a master's as "".

bas, the problem is that even if they are specifying in job listing "AA or higher" they are simply aiming for the lowest end of the pool possible - most candidates they will receive with be applicants with Bachelor degrees because of the aforementioned glut of corporate ladder candidates.

do this simple trick. look at all the degrees that a university offers and tell me how many actually stand a good chance to land you a decent job out of college: I can only think of accounting right now and that is largely because of Sarbanes-Oxley and maybe some specialized finance degrees. biotech is on the downswing and chem. eng. is on the upswing but not by much.

the reality is that a bachelor's degree in 2006 is what a h.s. diploma was in 1976: the basic standard and hardly notable.

Ive been doing sales for 9 years & love it. Wouldnt do anything else. Most jobs are sales jobs even though people dont think they are. Doctors & Lawyers are even sales jobs. Alot of people do get burned out at sales positions, but its how u approach it. I dont get stressed if i loose a sale. My way of selling is just to be courtious & friendly which is part of my personality anyways. Also i make sure i know what im selling like the back of my hand. Then the sales eventually pour in.

LOL ya they are. If a doctor or lawyer has thier pwn firm or practice they need clients. Why do u think doctors & lawyers spend the most money of all business's in yellow pages advertising? For clients & patients that eventually equal sales.

we have evolved beyond a 20 word dictionary. the words you were looking for are "service", as in: doctors and lawyers provide services. Also, feel free to reference the word "advertising" in regards to yellow pages.

Agreed. Let's just say that with a bachelor's degree you could make someone a pretty good lackey. Even a middle managing lackey!
