figured this could be an interesting discussion.

currently i like to budget between $10-$30 a week on new records, of course willing to break that rule if really good stuff comes in..

what about everybody else?

it all depends if i really liked a single that week. in this week for example i didnt like any vinyl that released, and maybe other i will like 5 and buy em all. of course there are weeks that you buy records that are older.

Around £60-£100 per week at the moment, so £300-£400 a month. I've just received an order from HTFR, went to HMV and Global Grooves on Saturday, have two orders outstanding with CDZone, two with Amazon (CD's though). This weekend I'm buying just over £100 of stuff of a mate and I'm just about to do my weekleys at Juno! ;)

ps. Yes I am skint! ;)

I don't limit myself either. If I want something and I can't really afford it I'll bang it on a credit card and worry about paying it off later.

If there's one thing I've learnt from buying music, it's to not leave anything in the shop in the hope it'll still be there next week! I missed out on so much stuff when I was younger and poorer, having to decide between two cracking tracks 'cos I could only afford the one.

this is very choice advice!! i know i have missed MANY great vinyls by not picking them up when i get the chance.. :(

I try to spend about $100 a week on vinyl...and if I see something old, I dont count it. so $100 a week on NEW vinyl + old songs that I have just come across

I better don't tell ;)

here's another good question:

would you be wiolling to pay a premium for a record you might have missed out on the first time (and is now hard to find)?

answer for me: i have and will continue to do so.. if someone points out a great song that is 5 years old and i MUST have it.. dammit i WILL get it :)
