I decided to buy them an engraved Zippo, a nice cigar cutter, and some nice cigars. I'm looking forward to smoking the cigars with them - been a while since we've all been together!

well give them the cigars and is there somewhere where you go to smoke those cigars (i know nothing of cigars, do they have cigar bars or stores?)?

b/c then include like a little gift certificate and they can pick out their own cigar(s)?

if you are having trouble, have your wife search those awful wedding websites like the knot (insert pukey smiley here...) for a few suggestions.

So my wedding is coming up on the 17th and I thought I had everything squared away. Then *bam* it turns out the barbeque utensil sets that I was ordering for my guys are backordered. Now, I need to come up with new gift ideas and I'm at a loss. What, oh what should I buy?!?!

And go!

I'll see your penis pump and raise you a surge protector.

:p

srsly tho, why not get the front row tickets to some ball game? and at the game give them their own jerseys with their names on it.

Ain't cheap... but you live once.

oh, and zippo thing - ghey. rly. get them coked up and get to tatoo shop - get their backs tatoed as "Dude" "Sweet" and if you got a 3rd one "Tat00h4x"

hire a hooker for an hour and let them all take turns. ask her for her group rate.

btw, i agree the zippo thing is gay.

How about some watches.

I think the idea of a groomsmen gift is to just be a small, personalized token that says "Thanks for standing in my wedding." I'd hate offend them with a $50 watch that they'd never wear and I can't really afford to spend more than $100 each on them. Times is hard.

How about a nice engraved pocket knife, or one of those all in one utility tool kits like the ones that leatherman makes with a lifetime warranty.

I think you can get a decent watch for under 100$, but maybe not where you live. Its not going to be a Cartier or anything but it certainly wouldnt be a Casio either :p

To me a best man is the guy that has had my back from day one, the guy who will be the god father of my children, technically my boy for life. I agree with the budget weddings and receptions may limit the amount you can afford for a groomsmen gift. I wouldn't think of it as "Thanks for standing at my wedding" more like "Thanks for watching my back, you'll always be my boys for life" lol - some aren't as fortunate to have good friends thats understood.

I like the watch idea, the cigars (cohibas torpedos or any light bodied out of habana), the cigar cutter is blahzhay cuz you'll only probably use it once since not many of smoke cigars on the regular. The zippo works also.

Since I know my group of friends might change over time, if you are fortunate to have your groomsmen be the true boys, i think a really great gift would be a set of dog tags with some saying that links you all together.

i never even realized you're supposed to buy a gift for the groomsmen and bridesmaids. i would never go into a wedding expecting anything from my friend...hell weddings are expensive enough...

I promise that wasn't my goal; I was pretty frantic to figure something out when I learned that my barbecue sets were back-ordered.

p.s. - one of the cake layers is peanut butter!!

EDIT: I'll send you a slice if you take back the 'attention whore' comment! :p
