So the starting goalie for Mexico, one of the best in the world IMO, travelled to Mexico because of his dad´s death. He was given the option not play the WC. Mexico´s first game is on Sunday so he still has time to think about it.

that sucks
I dont see him missing the world cup though, sanchez is one intence guy.Mexicos first 2 games are against winnable opponnets even without him, so if he does miss any time, prob 2 games that he wont start.

Thats the worst feeling in the world 2 lose ur dad.Although he plays for the enemy (mexico)i still respect him as a man, prayers go out to him and his family.

Sanchez will start today vs Iran
magikb
The Iran team came out with flowers today for him for the loss of his father. That is such a respectful thing to do! :)

He was the happiest one on the field after this game. Clearly one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the world.
