What's up guys...

Here's another tune I made recently...I tried to make this one as melodic and uplifting as possible. I think EQ sounds ok to me, but I would love to get some feed back on that.

spot on, very well produced. only thing thats wrong is when the bass cuts out on the way out of the track!

very nice mate. those melodies really get me. lovely listen. music that i like. your synth useage is spot on here. one fault is lack of change in the percs. they seem to stay the same for most of the track.

good listen though thanks for sharing!

Interesting melodies...

Lol dj_kane, that's called perc-variation!:D - And it's indeed essential to make a track deeper, more detailed, less robotic and more organic.
This track in particular, lacks the use of a tight clap or snaredrum. Also the buildup is a bit too short. After 1:40 the break already comes in. This kind of structure makes me feel as if I miss a second break or a piece that sounds totally different. (or maybe a breakbeat) It would work for a radio mix, but if you want the DJ's play your track, you have to make it considerably longer.

Once again I'm surprised of the dreamy melody here, a big plus on that! Also the mixing (the EQ's and stuff) sound a lot better than my , but that's just because I can't mix too well because I have to record some of the track in layers which is very irritating:o

Try to focus more on detail and structure in your song, rather than to keep looking for mixing + EQ-flaws ;)

i no its called perc variation. ill make sure i use the correct term next time. dont have to speak technical all the time. :tongue2

Listening,

Damn...sounds like quality from the start. Synth usage like everyone says is really melodic and sweet. I love it!

Great sounding track. Hope to hear more.

Hey, thanks for the comments guys...glad you all like the melody...i tried to make it sound unique but simple at the same time.

HarryMoore - you mean that it's too abrupt? ok, ill see if I can make it more gradual

dj_kane - yeah, beats are my weakness...I thought that what I had was sufficient though, do you think it's good enough for DJ's? Or just not good enough for TA quality? =) I think we tend to have very high standards here, which is good I think, so that we're more hard on ourselves to come out with better music..

websley - Yeah, I tried putting a clap in, but just didn't seem to flow as well...almost all my tracks have a clap so I tried to do something different here. Yeah there's so much to keep track of sometimes it's so hard to figure out what to focus on. but thanks for your feedback...

azndragon0613 - thanks dude

I'd also like to know if anyone can give me some hints on making this sound better with the volume up. Whenever I hear this loud, it doesn't sound as great. Is there anything I can do to improve my EQing? my ears can't seem to ever get it right

Hey. I like the intended sound of this, but it sounds as though, you threw a stereo enhancer over the entire track because my left speaker has more bass in it and my right is phasing in more treble. Thats not a good thing :). Try to use stereo enhancers on smaller groups, or even better, single sounds and setting them to different stereo fields so they clash less. You dont want to increase the stereo field of lower bass elements such as the kick and bassline unless you are going for an intended effect. The wetness of the reverb in this track is also a little overbearing. The main elements drown out too much of the percussion and bassline. Try EQing and filtering stuff a little better. I know it sounds like a waste of time but when you narrow down the amount of frequency bandwidth something gets, sound clarity will improve greatly. Outside of that, its great compositional wise, just needs some work :).

Cheers,
Zac

Hey Zac,

Actually I don't have a stereo enhancer over everything, but maybe it's one compenent that's doing it...i'll look it over. Yes, I agree that the main elements are doing that...just lowering the volume should do it right? Naw, i don't think it's a waste of time, I know that every instrument should get treated with only as much volume and EQ it deserves..too much of it can overwhelm, right? it's just so hard to maintain equality in a track, cause you want all elements to be heard...ill keep working on that...thanks for your input.
