i had the axis 8 and hated it.

pitch starts to waiver after a short while.

save up and get a pioneer or denon. dont bother with the numark.

you use the effects for about 2 weeks and then wish you went for an accurate table with less features.

Never used them, but from looking @ prices and peoples responses I say you are better off with cdj's or denons

I own a pair of cdj's 200 and love them

Spawnmaster,
I have purchased two Numark Axis 9's after owning starting out on the Axis 2's. Now before everyone laughs and flames about Numark, my Axis 2's were fabulous and reliable, but simply just that, equipment for starting out. Now let me share a wee story about the Axis 9's.

After seeing the 100 dollar price drop, I thought nothing could be of better value then to basically upgrade my current CD player to a more advanced one with the same look and feel. However, to make a long story short, a very common problem with the Axis 9's is a unable to read cd error as well as cd tray jams, and random skipping. THis happened with TWO Axis 9's, and I have also seen it occur on the premium Numark dual decks at a local club I play at, (which we immediatley switched to Denon's) :tongue2
I currently use in my own setup one completley functional Axis 9 and an old axis 2...why??? Simply because I LOVE the interface as well as asthetic appeal of the Axis 9's. With 3 hot stutter starts and loads of effects as well as scratching capabilities, I feel its the CD player for me.
But I will say this, Numark is NOT reliable, and you are taking a risk in buying their equipment (except for a select few mixers ie. DXM09 ftw!) I have used everything from DVJ 3000's to the CDJ200, and in some ways prefer my Axis 9's even over the 3000's...in some ways :happy2:
Buy what you believe is the best equipment for you and holds the features that you want but keep everything from reliability and cost still in mind. And know its definitley a bitch when CD players skip and freeze while playing to a crowd of 600....
Srry for the length!
