Compositional question..

Ive got a filtered "melody" in the break which takes 32 beats, and after that I want to bring in the unfiltered melody which is ofcourse also 32 beats.
How can I put a little mute piece between the filtered part and the "full unfiltered part", while still keeping the 32 "rythm"?
(Im terrible when it comes to "producinglanguage" in english.. so I hope the following image makes that 32 point clear)

how do I insert a silence on the *? or how can I solve this problem by "avoiding" it.. because the break really, really needs a silence between those parts.

| Well you could simply mute the last bar of the filtered synth... or if you're not too fussy about keeping the timing you could just add an empty bar there. |
