The older ones.
If you like melodic epic & anthem, look for misja helsloot sets - including the one available for download on TA. As for producers; Airwave, Airbase, Pulser, Ferry Corsten, Dumonde, Altitude, Above & Beyond/Oceanlab, C-Quence, MK-S, Stenna, Kamaya Painters, Firewall, Unknown Source, Rank 1, Thomas Datt, Icone...
For darker, deeper, less overblown stuff; John '00' Flemming, The Digital Blonde, Ar52, Tegma, Viscid, Nicholas Bennison, Chris Cowie/X-Cabs, Miika Kuisma, Steve Birch... |

I own Magik 6: Live in Amsterdam, and I can say that it's a great mix. I also have ISOS 4 and 5. If you had presented either ISOS to me a few years ago when I first got into trance (anthemic at the time), I would have said WTF is this? Now, however, I can say that I appreciate both the Magik series and the ISOS series.
Listen to the peopel posting here. Try the producers and DJs they have recommended. There is so much out there to enjoy, from down tempo to progressive house. Don't be afraid to experiment and enjoy what each genre has to offer. Tiesto bashing aside, he has given me quite a bit to experience. Enjoy and welcome. |

I fail to see how ISOS4 and ISOS5 are masterpieces.
I fail to see how one doesn't need too look beyond just 4 DJs.
And for that matter, why are you putting Sasha in the same basket with PVD, Armin and Tiesto? It's not like they produce/play same kind of music.
Oh, and I fail to see how Ferry is a waste of time.

Than go and get your eyes checked by some doctor. |

Or maybe you should go and get your ears and taste checked (and preferably fixed). |

I would recommend Magik 5 or ISOS 2.

You not liking someone doesn't make them a waste of time. |

Fav set from Oaky in 1999 was the Creamfields one (August 1999). Wow. Some of the best trance I have ever heard in any set. |

ive ventured into many different types of trance and love how there are no boundries. Its not like rock where sometimes it seems like the same but with a different voice. (not do diss rock Im a huge Metallica fan).
ALso, off topic but since i started the thread hope its ok--how do you get pics into your posts. ive tried the FAQ section and have gotten no answers. i belong to photobucket if this helps. |
