YA i wanna hit up Brazil too.

Lira i gotta a question abt Rio. I had a buddy got to Rio for 3 weeks. He said he banged 20 women in 21 days there. I didnt believe him at first but he had pics & video to prove it with some of the women. My question is, is that a regular occurance for good lookin guys visiting Rio or was it a freak occurance.?

It really depends on the women he was with: where he met them, what the context was, and sometimes, even their social condition might play a role.

I'm mentioning their social condition because we do have a problem with sexual tourism, for example, and some of these women that escort tourists remind me of those Japanese schoolgirls who date guys so they can get presents. It's a very similar phenomenom.

Although it does seem to be a freak occurance, I live far from Rio, and I'm really not that much of a bohemian, so I wouldn't know how "fruitful" a tourists's nightlife there could be :D This quasi-prostitution is the only thing I can think of, unless he was Brad-Pittly good looking :p

These are just excuses for not travelling in my mind. If you want to do it you find a way. You may have to make sacrifices, sacrifice that security you are so used to in your bubble, it's tough- but can happen...

some people choose not to travel and that is what they have done. as someone said before, life gets in the way. i travelled alot the past 8 years of my life. there are places that i still want to go to (example- Africa), but i have kind of accepted the fact that i may not make it. why? b/c i am getting ready to start a family in the next few years and there is no way i will be taking a young child to africa, not until they are at least 10. we all have dreams to go somewhere. you cant make all of your dreams come true.

I've been lucky, my life has always revolved completely around travelling, I have no "dream" destinations, only places I haven't been yet... If that makes any sense. As for me being skeptical, I'd say that my opinions and views on this matter are based on fact. So many people I know never end up being able to leave their "bubble"... It also just bugs me how all these people seem to be for the most part, listing the same places for such superficial reasons. These threads bore me.

I totally get you on all points.
I am looking forward to travelling for the rest of my life and make it up to at least 100 countries before my dying days :D ( already done over a quarter so I got a good head start ).

If I were to seriously pick:
1. Izu seven islands in Japan ( south of Tokyo ).
2. Iceland, Isreal
3. Africa ( I wanna see it all so I can't pick! :wtf: especially Eritrea, Mount kilimanjaro, Egypt, etc etc )
4. South America ( Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Chile ).
5. the world.

I was supposed to go back as soon as I finished my exams (next week) but my brother won't pay for my ticket because he and I have had problems since November 05 and he's still being a butt. He's just so stubborn.

I sent 3 emails to my mom asking her to intervene but she hasn't opened any of them. :/

I haven't been home for 15 months. My younger brother is now taller than me and the last time I saw him he was maybe 6 cm shorter than I.

Blah.

I think there is a moral to this story: Don't leave home unless you have enough money set aside to buy your own return ticket.
