ive been looking at the vestax CDX-05's lately as a possible alternative to the cdj200's...i can get them at a decent price (~~$350) and i like the sampler. any advice? thnx

if youre willing to pay as much as the 200s, why not just get the 200s? from what Ive heard, if youre not gonna got with pioneer, go with denon.

i feel like people these days are such pio fanboys...id like to hear other opinions about the reliability of other manufacturers as well, u know? but i mean obviously if the cdj200's have such a good following then they must be worth it however its nice to hear varied opinions. to be honest ill prolly end up getting the 200's though...lol:gsmile:

yeah i would have to agree with the fact that everyone seems to have a man-crush on pioneer. maybe it is for a good reason but i just get frustrated when no one will recommend anything but a pioneer product or even say something good about something that isnt pioneer. This is just in the case of CD decks though. Same thing goes for technics when talking about turntables. Like yeah those are the best brands but when someone mentions another brand please dont just bash it and automatically recommend pioneer/technics.....

Pios are popular because they are tried and tested.
There are people here who swear by cdjs but probably wont touch djms...

go with pioneer. so you can use a pioneer in a club. the 200's are great and prepair you well for use of 800's or 1000's in clubs.

no clubs use denons. so if you get denon or something like this then you wont be used to pioneer. itll be like being used to using vestax but having to teach yourself the characteristics of techs on the night. it is annoying.

your so dead wrong if you would acually buy pioneer cuz of this reason , then imagine that no one in the early days would play with cds and stick with turntables , the cds would have instinct faster than your theory ....same concept here ...

im a huge ing Pioneer fan for one reason: the price on my 200s was real good (got em for $320US/each) and it has beaten out everything i've seen in its pricerange.

it's not geat that i'm thinking will breakdown on me in front of a crowd.

but i wouldn't buy a Pioneer HDJ-1000 to save my life, cuz i know they suck, just as i wouldn't buy any other table that wasn't a Technics for the most part. it's a matter of reliability. this is not stuff i buy to play around with them as if they were toys (although i do :p), but even when at home, i want to feel that they will behave properly under any situation. Denon has not done this for me (used friends' stuff, i've seen much broken down, malfunction, etc. perhaps they just have bad luck). i also don't believe in throwing money away, and like getting things right the first time.
