good seeing everyone out. met a couple new people like peter, and amit, who ended up getting pretty wasted... or something. kinda wanna see those pics.. :p

my only complaint was that it was advertised as $15 reduced till 2, but when i got there at 1, they told us reduced was always $25. not a horrible price nonetheless.

the track selection was good, but he ruined them with this raping of the levels, over flanging, cutting out the music to talk to girls, falling off beat...with a DJ mixing program that tells you when you fall off,

i could go on & on, but i wont. i will say this: it was good comedy

couple of those things were not his fault. The setup on the stage was kind of ed up for some reason. He wasn't cutting the music to talk to girls, he was turning down the monitors, and didn't realize that turning down the monitors on that setup turned down the main system as well...that shouldn't happen.

anyway, I liked Graham's set. Haven't heard a dj bang it out like that in awhile, which was fun to hear. I was a little on the drunk side most of the night, but I was pretty into his mixing style. He didn't just mix songs, he did a lot of cool beat juggling type of mixes which I rarely see big djs do.

Ran into lot of TAs last night as well which is always cool. Looking forward to next month.

yeaaa.. i noticed that too. the monitors were loud as hell and when he turned it down.. seemed like the whole volume in the front of the stage dropped as well. i definitely thought some of his mixes were pretty cool. definitely felt like it worked for a club environement.

some of his volume faderplay was a bit sketchy, but i personally thought most of it sounded pretty nice. its always nice to see a dj actually doing something to the music rather than just playing track after track.

Yeah, those monitors were extremely loud and wayyy too bassy. At the beginning of the night I put on a record and as soon as I started to mix in, the needle just skipped right off because of how bassy the damn monitors were lol.

must agree...and yea cutting the monitors would explain the lack of levels at those horribly random times

No, not at all. I was expecting the track selection he had, but I had hoped that his DJ skills wouldn't be so amateur. And you can blame the 'booth monitors' if you want, but he should have been familiar with the setup before he started spinning. There's a big difference between working hard & sounding good, eg: PvD, and turning a random knob every 10 seconds.
kid nyce
So after getting DENIED at crobar lol I made my way to Avalon for Graham.

Met up with Peter, Amit, Vtec, Hai Lee, Zack, and met some groovanauts. Graham dropped some great beats and the crowd was uuhhh kinda interesting yet not all that lol. A mix of 18+, fobs, and hiphop'ers lol. Strange but I guess it does well for Avalon.

And yes, this was weird, peter was not wasted when I got there but AMIT, AMIT you better post here man cuz I see you lurking and you never drop any lines. My boy AMIT WAS SHOT! I'm talkin slurring speach, screaming my name out mad loud...haha so this is what happens, he leaves for india for a few years, comes back like some GQ Model from India. Loses his sheik (not sure if thats the name of the shawl that is part of the indian religion)

I'm telling you Amit with wavy semi-slicked back hair and a button down LOL WHAT? that just doesn't register....but still at heart.....the man has never left his soul! Peter always great chilling with you man, but for some reason you wasn't wasted so i don't know if that truely counts as chilling out with you lol.

Anyways very nice set by graham, it did justice for such a ty start to the night at crobar.
